January 2005

University Human Resources Office of Development and Training classes, as well as classes provided by the Office of Information Technology Short Course Series are underway for the Spring semester and listed in the Course Catalog.

Change of Service

The Office of Information Technology has been undergoing a reorganization of services and personnel in an effort to more fully resource some of our core services. An unfortunate, but necessary, part of this reorganization has been the discontinuation of the Peer Training Program. Due to a two-year decline in class attendance, the difficult decision was made to reassign the staff and resources that have supported the Peer Training program to other areas of our organization. OIT is evaluating alternate methods of delivering training services to students. We regret any inconvenience as a result of this change.

Keys to Effective Use of the Training@Maryland site

Many of the training courses listed are only offered to certain audiences (UMCP staff, UMCP faculty, etc.). Once you log in to Training@Maryland, you will only be able to see and register for the course sections that you are eligible to attend. If you browse the course catalog before you log in\, you will be able to see all of the course sections offered through Training@Maryland, but if you try to register for a course section for which you are not eligible, your registration will be denied (each course section lists who is eligible to take that section).

When you are finished using the Training@Maryland site, please click on Log Out on the far right side of the menu bar to end your session. This will prevent someone else from sitting at that same computer and logging in under your username and password.
