About University of Maryland Training ProgramsThis Web site is designed to be a one-stop "shopping center" for University of Maryland training activities. Several programs are currently represented at the site. University Human Resources Office of Employee Training and DevelopmentThe mission of the Office of Employee Training and Development is to provide University of Maryland employees with opportunities for professional development, leadership development, and advanced skills training. Training opportunities are available on-site and online and ET&D partners with internal and external departments to provide employees with a diversity of training venues and opportunities. Training is open to UM faculty and staff only. Office of Information Technology Institute for Instructional TechnologyThe Institute for Instructional Technology (IIT) is a faculty-centered initiative co-sponsored by the Office of Information Technology (OIT) and the Center for Teaching Excellence. It provides skills training and peer mentoring to faculty wishing to explore the ways in which technology can be integrated into their course curricula. The IIT training workshops are free to the University instructional community and focus on a variety of technological applications through the presentation of hands-on learning modules. Graduate School Ph.D. Completion Project Workshop SeriesSponsored by the Graduate School and PROMISE (Maryland's Alliance for Graduate Education and the Professoriate), the Ph.D. Completion Project Workshop Series is open to ALL graduate students regardless of degree objective. Workshops are held weekly on campus and audio recordings are available afterward at the Graduate School workshops Web site. Office of Research Administration and Advancement Certificate ProgramIn order to provide guidance to the University community on federal, state, and University policies and regulations for sponsored research, the Office of Research Administration and Advancement (ORAA) and the Office of Contract and Grant Accounting (OCGA) combine to offer a series of courses intended to give a deeper understanding of contract and grant administration. The ORAA Certificate Program is open to UM faculty and staff only. |
