Workshops
From MD193/University Boulevard
From the University Boulevard main entrance to campus (across the street from
the University Golf Course), follow road around a circle in front of Byrd
Stadium. Take the second "spoke" off of the circle onto Stadium Drive which
will wind past several residence halls and entrances to Byrd Stadium. Proceed
on Stadium Drive down a shallow hill. The Computer
and Space Sciences Building will be on the left side of the
road.
From Route 1
From the Route 1--Campus Drive main entrance, proceed to the "M" circle. Take
the first "spoke" off of the circle onto Regents Drive. Follow Regents Drive
approximately two blocks to the second left at the intersection of Regents
Drive and Stadium Drive (north). Turn left onto Stadium Drive. The Computer
and Space Sciences Building is approximately 200 yards ahead
on the right side of the road.
Parking Options
- Parking Garage II: located at the intersection of Regents and Stadium
Drive, across the street from the Computer & Space Sciences Building on
Stadium Drive. Parking restrictions until 4 p.m. required that you have
a "B" sticker or administrative parking permit.
- Parking Lot Q: located at the west end of the Computer and Space Sciences
Building. Turn into the lot from Stadium Drive northwest of Jull Hall. There is very limited metered parking on the perimeter
of this lot. Meters are in effect at all times.
All other access requires administrative parking permit.
- Parking Lot DD: located at the east end of the Computer and Space Sciences
Building. Turn into the lot from Farm Drive, northeast of the Computer
and Space Sciences building. There is limited metered parking on the perimeter
of this lot. Meters are in effect at all times. There are no parking restrictions at non-metered spots after
4 p.m. Monday-Friday and on weekends.
- Administrative Parking Permit: request an Administrative Parking
Permit from your departmental parking coordinator in order to park in
non-metered spaces in either of the lots noted above.
Finding the FTC Room Location The Faculty Technology Center,
CSS room 4404, is in the west wing of the Computer and Space Sciences building.
Enter the main doors of the west wing (looks like a new addition to the building).
Stairs to the fourth floor are at the left and right ends of the hallway.
An elevator is to the right as you enter the building.
Please note that there is a policy of no
food or beverage in the lab.

From the Paint Branch Drive entrance to campus, the Chesapeake Building will be the first building on the right.
From Route 1
From the Route 1--Campus Drive main entrance, proceed to the first right onto
Paint Branch Drive. Stay on Paint Branch Drive for approximately 1/2 mile
(passing Parking Lots 11, 9 and 4 on the right and left side of the road,
as well as the Recycling Center on the right and the Intermural baseball stadium
on the left). There is a stop sign at the Paint Branch Drive entrance to the
ComCast Center. Proceed past the stop sign, and the Chesapeake Building is on the left.
Parking Options
The following lots are available near the building:

Lot "P1" and Lot "P2"--you must have a current UMCP Faculty/Staff Parking Permit; OR an All Campus permit.
- Lot "P*"--you must have a current UMCP Faculty/Staff Parking Permit, along with your department's Administrative Permit; OR an All Campus permit.
- Other surrounding lots (4b; Comcast Parking Garage, etc.)--if it is listed as an "Overflow Lot" on the back of your parking permit, you may park here.
If you do not have a UMCP Parking Permit, you can park at a meter in the "P2" lot, OR obtain a one-day parking permit through your department or through Transportation Services.
Venue for Ph.D. Completion Project Workshop Series
From Route 1
From the Route 1--Campus Drive main entrance, proceed to the "M" circle and take the third right to proceed on Regents Drive south. Proceed past the University administration buildings on the left and the camp "mall" on the right to Chapel Drive. Turn right on Chapel Drive; Skinner Hall is the second building on the right.
Parking Options
- Permitted Lot: participants should consider parking in the lot for which they have a parking permit and walking to Skinner Hall.
- Metered Parking: very minimal metered parking is available on Regents Drive in front of the Memorial Chapel.
- Union Drive Parking Garage: the closest attendant parking garage is located on Union Drive next to the Adele H. Stamp Student Union.
